Demonopolization of the alcohol industry continues: the first two assets in 2021 were offered at transparent online auctions
In March 2021, as part of the process of demonopolization of the alcohol industry, two online auctions will be held for the privatization of separate property - Vyshniakovsky and Duboviazovsky places of activity and storage of alcohol of the SOE “Ukrspyrt”.
On March 4, an online auction will be held for the privatization of the Vyshniakivsky operating location of the SOE “Ukrspyrt” (alcohol production). The object is located in the village of Vyshniaky, Khorol district, Poltava region, was founded in 1776 and modernized in 2015.
The company owns buildings and structures with a total area of 9,357.8 sq. m., including production buildings, warehouses, administrative buildings, shops, workshops, etc. The total area of land plots is 8.8739 hectares. The company has technological equipment in usable condition.
The starting price of the asset is UAH 21,176,878, and acceptance of applications for participation in online auctions until March 3, 2021.
On March 11, an online auction will be held for the privatization of the Duboviazivsky operating location of SOE “Ukrspyrt”. The object is located in the urban-type settlement Duboviazivka, Konotop district, Sumy region.
The company owns buildings and structures with a total area of 11,263.9 sq. m., including main and industrial buildings, alcohol storage, shops, workshops, garages, sawmills, etc. The total area of land plots is 44.7727 hectares.
The starting price of the asset is UAH 33,796,715, and acceptance of applications for participation in online auctions until March 10, 2021.
The demonopolization of the alcohol industry began in 2020. As a result of transparent online auctions, the state budget should receive about one billion hryvnias, but most importantly, the formation of a new market for alcohol production has launched.
Until recently, only two countries - Ukraine and Belarus - were the countries with monopolies on alcohol production. Over the last 10 years, the production of legal food alcohol has decreased 4 times, and the part of shadow turnover has increased from 10% (in 2007) to 55% (in 2019).
Transparent privatization of alcohol assets opens up new opportunities for both the country and bidders. Investors with ownership rights to the assets of the alcohol industry have an exclusive opportunity to participate in a new alcohol market.As results, the state will receive budget revenues, investments in the modernization of production, which will create new job’s positions.
