On April 16, privatization of the Irpin Correctional Center will be auctioned

As part of the “large-scale privatization of prisons”, the first object will be auctioned online transparently. On April 16, 2021, investors will be able to compete for ownership of a separate property of the state institution “Irpin Correctional Center (No. 132)”, located at urban-type settlement Kotsiubynske, Kyiv region.

The Irpin Correctional Center has halted its primary activities in August 2019 and now the state is spending millions of hryvnias to maintain it.

At the same time, the object has excellent investment potential. There is a newly built residential area around and a large park nearby. Akademmistechko Metro Station is only 6 km away.  Nearby there is a railway line and the “Bilychi” Station, which will allow the new owner to provide excellent logistics.

The privatization object is a complex of buildings and constructions with the total area of 28,141.7 sq. m. and is located in the very center of Kotsiubyne, at 1, Zaliznychna Street. The total area of land plots occupied by the institution is 8.3 ha.

There are available water supply and sewerage network. Power supply is carried out by two substations: 700 and 490 kW.

The starting price of the separate property of the state institution “Irpin Correctional Center (No. 132)” at the online auction is UAH 110,105,794, and accepting applications for participation in the online auction will last until April 15.

Privatization takes place within the framework of a joint project of the State Property Fund and the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, which provides that property of 35 non-operating correctional institutions will be auctioned online transparently.

Privatization of the mothballed correctional centers will not only get rid the state of losses and become a source of budget revenues, but will also allow the development of modern correctional centers with improved conditions of detention, working conditions for staff and a high level of security for society.
