«Large privatization of prisons»: Taras Yeleyko took part in the event on the occasion of the transfer of the property ownership of the non-operating Lviv Correctional Colony to the investor

On July 16, 2021, Taras Yeleyko, Deputy Chairman of the State Property Fund of Ukraine, took part in a press briefing on the transfer of the property ownership of the former correctional colony No. 48 in Lviv to Development Engineering Service LLC (SoftServe).

During the event, the participants discussed a number of strategically important issues related to the implementation of the project «Large Privatization of Prison» on the example of privatization of the property of the non-operating Lviv Correctional Colony No. 48 by SoftServe, and discussed plans for this object.

According to the information provided by the investor, the company plans to build a campus in this area, which will contain a number of infrastructure objects and offices. The campus intends to unite part of Lviv’s offices, as well as there are objects necessary for work, leisure, talent development and various events.

The briefing also discussed the importance of the modern Lviv development and the impact of such a large-scale project on the city’s architecture and infrastructure.

«The privatization of the property of the non-functioning Lviv Correctional Colony No. 48 by SoftServe is a winning story for all: the Ministry of Justice received funds for the construction of new infrastructure, the city - renovation of the territory through the creation of a creative office campus, as well as investments and new jobs, and the State  - revenues to the Budget», - said Taras Yeleyko.

Also, all participants of the press briefing had the opportunity to see the former territory of the colony as part of a tour, during which representatives of regional media received answers to questions about plans of investors and privatization of other non-operating assets of the penitentiary service within the joint project of the State Property Fund and the Ministry of Justice «Large Privatization of Prisons».
