The “UMCC” and Chemours contract execution is being prevented by sabotage

On August 4, 2020 at 2:20 PM at the “Verkhivtseve” railway station, the attackers committed sabotaged actions - actions aimed at non-fulfillment of the contract of JSC “United Mining and Chemical Company” with the international contractor Chemours - 10 sealed hopper trucks loaded with ilmenite concentrate from Vilnohirsk MMP were opened.

Hopper wagons, in which sealing marks and latches, have been damaged and opened, are self-unloading bunkers for the bulk cargo transporting. In the result of deliberate opening of the wagons was spill of ilmenite concentrate, which was shipped under the “UMCC” contract with the American industrial holding Chemours and sent to the Odesa Sea Trade Port.

The UMCC appealed to law enforcement agencies on the fact of crime committing against a state company and in order to search for criminals. “We consider the opening of hopper wagons as an act committed intentionally to destabilize the production process at the UMCC's companies and disrupt the supply of products to an international counterparty. It is very interesting that last week the former management of the “UMCC” spread information about the alleged termination of the “UMCC” contract with Chemours, and today we learned about a well-planned sabotage”, said Peter Davis, Acting Head of the Management Board of JSC “UMCC”.

To recall, the UMCC's former management previously spread fake information on the UMCC's failure to fulfill its obligations to the international counterpart Chemours, which is part of the DuPont holding. While “UMCC” did not stop cooperating with the consumer, even more so - the Parties agreed to ship products at a price 24% higher.

* All information on the “UMCC” activities will be temporarily published on the official website of the State Property Fund of Ukraine, as access to the company's website and the official Facebook page of the “UMCC” has been blocked by the former management.
