Government has provided the right to exempt from rent payment or obtain discounts during quarantine exclusively for business sector

The State Property Fund of Ukraine informs that full exemption from rent payment or 50% and 75% discounts during quarantine according to the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 611, dated 15.07.2020 "On some issues on state property's rent payment during quarantine", are given only to categories of state property's tenants, carrying out business activities (representatives of business sector), who are forced to suspend their activities due to quarantine restrictions. At the same time, exemption from rent payment and discounts don't apply to public organizations.

We recall that on March 11, 2020, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the Resolution No. 211 “On prevention of the spread of COVID-19 acute respiratory disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 in Ukraine” and further amended it. Among other things, the Resolution has established quarantine restrictions on activities of number of business entities and organizations’ categories in trading, public catering, supply of transportation services, cultural and entertainment services, etc. during quarantine, caused by the coronavirus infection pandemic.

It is worth mentioning that significant number of state property’s tenants operates in areas that are under quarantine restrictions. Due to forced suspension of activities during quarantine they’ve incurred losses. Therefore, with the aim to provide support to such business entities, the State Property Fund of Ukraine has initiated and developed Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 611.
