Dmytro Sennychenko has spoken on the privatization of non-functioning defense enterprises
On April 22, 2021, a press conference on the topic «Privatization of non-operating defense enterprises: dumping ballast or investment in their development»was held with the participation of the Chairman of the State Property Fund of Ukraine Dmytro Sennychenko.«Бориспіль»
The event, which took place online, was also attended by Yurii Husiev, General Director of Ukroboronprom, and Hlib Kanievskyi, Chairman of the StateWatch expert organization.
According to the decision of the Government, 17 objects of «Ukroboronprom» were transferred to the State Property Fund for further privatization.
«The State Property Fund has received 17 objects from Ukroboronprom. We are talking about the privatization of only those assets that the state doesn't need to perform security or social functions. I want to emphasize that all the companies transferred to us are not operating, and also have problems: debts, seized property, etc. - said Dmytro Sennychenko and added, that the task of the State Property Fund in this situation - to turn unproductive assets into productive by attracting a competent investor through transparent online - auction».
The first object on the list is PJSC Kherson Sudmash Plant, which will be privatized by online auction on April 30, 2021.
The plant has lost its former production capacity, the main range of products now - equipment for utilities and fire and rescue units. Much of the plant's premises are currently unused. The company has tax arrears and debts to counterparties, the Pension Fund and employees.
At the same time, the object has excellent investment potential due to the preserved fixed assets, location, available communications, etc.
«The Plant «Sudmash», as well as other Ukroboronprom facilities transferred to us, are only a small part of non-core state assets. The State Property Fund is ready to commit to finding an effective investor for these facilities. The state will receive from the privatization replenishment for the budget, a new base for taxation, the investor - the opportunity to establish a successful business, the local community - the development of the territory and new job», - said the Chairman of the State Property Fund of Ukraine.
He also has spoken on the changes in the privatization process that have ensured the transparency of privatization and the convenience of participating in auctions for potential investors.
«We are inviting potential investors to actively participation in privatization.
