The State Property Fund of Ukraine continues cooperation with USAID and SOERA Project

The team of the SPFU met with representatives of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and SOERA Project, and discussed further cooperation, support mechanisms for current and new projects.

At the meeting Vitaliy Koval, Chairman of the State Property Fund of Ukraine, described the main task for the Fund for next year, including:

  • Opening of the land lease market;
  • Sale of sanctioned assets.

“Next year the Fund will face various challenges, which will be difficult to overcome without support from our foreign partners.  We need help in analysis and exchange of experience in the field of reforms. Today, our working speed must be the highest. Non-strategic enterprises must be put up for privatization. Our goals are to find an effective owner of state property and fill the state budget, because today every hryvnia works to defense Ukraine,” emphasized Vitaliy Koval, Chairman of the Fund.

First Deputy of the Chairman Denys Shuhalii drew the attention of partners to the importance of further support of the Personnel Reserve System and its expansion.

The Fund’s team also told foreign partners about amendments to the legislation on improving the mechanisms of privatization and leasing of state property. New bill is about the termination (liquidation) of enterprises. Now, a significant part of SOEs is a “ballast” for Ukrainian economy.

Chairman of the Fund noted the SPFU will continue all active transformations and follow the course towardsopenness of the institution.

In turn, the partners assured the Fund of support for its initiatives and agreed on further cooperation, meetings and joint work to implement reforms.
