The State Property Fund of Ukraine held a national conference call with the leadership of regional state administrations

On May 27, 2021, the State Property Fund of Ukraine and regional state administrations held a National Selection Meeting. The main topic of the event was the efficient use of state property in the regions and the acceleration of the privatization process. The joint work of the State Property Fund and the Regional State Administration in the direction of accelerating the pace of privatization aims to attract investment in the local economy, improve infrastructure and create new jobs.

According to SPFU Deputy Chairman Kostiantyn Koshelenko, the new transparent principles introduced by the Fund in the field of privatization and lease of state property have provided real results in the form of increasing the number of participants in online auctions and increasing the value of assets in open auctions.

«We have a such real indicator as the growing of the value of public facilities at transparent auctions, that shows the effectiveness of the changes introduced by our team in the privatization process. Thus, in 2019, the average increase in the value of assets at privatization auctions was 14%, and this year this figure was 75%» - said the Deputy Chairman of the SPFU Kostiantyn Koshelenko.

Today, thanks to the assistance of the Office of the President, the SPFU and the Regional State Administration are establishing cooperation in three areas:

  • conducting an information campaign to stimulate privatization;
  • transfer of functions on management of non authorized property(housing stock and civil defense structures) to the Regional State Administration;
  • rational disposal of state property in the regions.

Currently, working groups are being set up and are working on the effective use of state property, work is being done with the balance holders of state-owned objects, the inspections reveal property with unidentified authorities, or those that are being used illegally.

«The inventory showed the presence of a significant number of state-owned objects that are not used for their intended purpose or are not used at all. Such facilities need to be privatized because, as practice shows, their logistical and financial condition only deteriorates over time. Therefore, we work with local authorities and local communities to identify such facilities and transfer them for privatization as soon as possible. This will help attract investment in the local economy and create new jobs,»
said Andrii Kisera, Director of the Regional Network Department.
