The first three humanitarian aid planes from Saudi Arabia arrive in Ukraine as part of a USD 100 million program

Three aircraft from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have arrived in Ukraine containing a variety of humanitarian aid items, including 135 power generators with capacities ranging from 20 to 400 KW, warm blankets and hygiene products. The aid will be distributed to six regions of the country to meet the urgent needs of thousands of people.

This aid was provided within the framework of a USD 100 million memorandum on humanitarian aid signed during the recent visit to Ukraine of Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs HH Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud.

“We are grateful to Saudi Arabia for its support of Ukraine”, Rustem Umerov, the Chairman of the State Property Fund of Ukraine (SPFU) stated. “The help provided by Saudi Arabia and its people is crucial for Ukraine and our people". The SPFU will help distribute the aid to recipients throughout the country.

Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah, Supervisor General of King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief), which is the Kingdom’s humanitarian arm, stated that “Saudi Arabia has always been in the front line to help countries and communities in need, an expression of the noble values held by the leaders and people of the Kingdom. KSrelief is happy to respond effectively to the directives of our leadership”.

Ukraine is sincerely grateful to Saudi Arabia for its ongoing humanitarian support for the Ukrainian people – support which emphasizes the strong ties between the two countries.
